Creating Mindful School Communities

Schools are a busy place! Between parents racing to drop their kids off and to get to work, kids frantically getting to the first handball court and teachers trying to get lessons prepared before the bell, the energy around the school can be quite chaotic.

Taking time to learn and practise mindfulness provides an opportunity to come back into presence. Most causes of stress, anxiety or depression are due to not living or being in the present moment.

When we are mindful we create awareness. Self awareness leads to responsibility which ultimately creates more loving, nurturing positive relationships in a community.

Mindfulness can be defined as "paying attention to the present moment with openness, curiosity and without judgement." 

Mindfulness is a path of discovery into the self... When one truly knows their self, that is when they can experience the deepest state of inner happiness.
